DESCRIPTION: Artists in Residence: The Santa Rosa artist community has thrived since the 60's exodus from the cities relocated creative energy to the backwoods of Sonoma County. Their working studios provide the backdrop to their art.
Working out of the basement of her 19th century stone winery, fused glass artist Linda Reed. Using a 1700 degree kiln, Reed stacks cut pieces of glass which fuse into one thicknesss and becomes quite viscous. Protected from the heat, she lifts the kiln and rakes patterns through the piece.
