Nyamagongo primary school student make their way to school as the sun rises on Thursday July 14, 2005. The children attend school from 7:30am to 5pm many of them walking several miles. In the summer of 2005, a group of Bay Area students traveled to the remote village of Nymanagongo in Shirati, Tanzania to bring supplies and aid to the village school. They saw first hand the struggle the students face while trying to get an education. During their stay the American youth handed out supplies assisted in project to bring fresh water to the school and formed a relationship with their peers a half a world away. In the end, their efforts proved that every little bit helps.
