The couple arrived at City Hall to protest not being able to get marriage licenses. A day of protest turned into their wedding day when city officials followed a directive set in motion by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Today's actions may result in a future state constitutional battle as the state of California recognizes marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
