Youth In Transition
Youth In Transition is a non-profit organization for homeless youth in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The subsequent images are a collection of 12 portraits and short biographies of some of the young people who frequent the organization. Many of them have been homeless since their early teens when they ran away from home or were kicked out by their parents. Abuse, alcoholism and/or drug addiction played a large role in most of the youths formative years. And, since leaving home, many of them continue to involve themselves in drug addiction, alcoholism or abuse.
